During the government’s announcement today (16 March 2020) the clear message is that we are all in this together and we need to protect the most vulnerable in society, this includes the over 70’s and those with underlying health problems.
Whilst the government did not state that care homes should limit visits they did state that individuals should not visit those at risk including those over 70’s. Therefore, we have decided to limit visits to the home to essential visits only, meaning health professionals and essential maintenance contractors only will be the only visitors allowed on the premises. However, anyone who needs to visit a relative due to end of life will not be denied access if government guidance is met.
We encourage everyone to continue communication with their loved ones via the phone. We’re also looking at alternative methods of communication such as Skype and Facetime and will share an update once we’ve set up accounts, in the meantime please ensure the details we have for you are up to date. However, please be patient, as we have a limited amount of cordless phones to pass to the residents and our hard working care staff’s first priority is to care for the residents within the home.
We currently do not have anyone with confirmed Covid-19 at present and we would like it to remain that way.
